About
Us
Our
Mission
The
mission of The BirchTree Center for Healthcare Transformation
is to serve healthcare professionals and organizations in
manifesting their potential for caring, healing and transformation
through innovative education and consultation resources.
We are
a team of nationally distinguished faculty, consultants and
practitioners with expertise in nursing education, holistic
health, transformational leadership, organizational consciousness
and complementary and integrative therapies.
We believe
it is our shared humanity that forms the core of societys
most cherished healthcare values: caring, healing, competence,
fidelity, advocacy, promise-keeping and the preservation of
human dignity. The BirchTree Center for Healthcare Transformation
is dedicated to assisting healthcare professionals and organizations
in re-defining and re-aligning healthcare practice with these
values.
Guiding
Principles
In order
for healthcare organizations to become healing places and
caregivers to become healing partners, they must reflect and
sustain the values and actions that are congruent with healing.
This will come about with the redefinition of health and illness,
the renewal of the patient and healthcare provider relationship
and the shift from hierarchal management models to transformational
leadership based on partnership and collaboration.
At The
BirchTree Center, we believe healthcare professionals and
organizations must consciously co-create and transform our
system of healthcare. We commit our services, expertise and
resources to manifesting a humanistic, healing healthcare
system.
Our
Name
The BirchTree
Center name is inspired by the Viking Rune Berkana.
The literal translation of Berkana is expressed with four
words: Rebirth
Growth... Transformation
BirchTree.
The energy of Berkana is concerned with the flow of entities
into their new forms. Its action is gentle, penetrating and
pervasive.
