Holistic Nursing Certification and Re-Certification
HOLISTIC NURSING BOARD CERTIFICATION
The BirchTree Center is proud of our 98.5% graduate pass rate on the National Board Certification Exam for Holistic Nursing. Board certification recognizes expertise in holistic nursing practice and is an important certification for nurses to hold in the current healthcare environment. The Integrative Healing Arts Academy and Program prepares nurses to sit for the certification examination at all four levels. Certification is renewable after 5 years with either 100 CEUs in holistic nursing or by re-taking the exam.
Certification is offered based on a nurse’s highest nursing degree:
- HN-BC for nurses prepared with AD or Diploma in Nursing
- HNB-BC for nurses prepared with a BSN
- AHN-BC for nurses prepared with an MSN, PhD, DNP
- APHN-BC for nurses prepared with an APRN license
RE-CERTIFICATION
Renewing certification in holistic nursing requires 100 continuing education units in holistic nursing acquired within the 5 years prior to expiration. Nurses eligible for recertification can attend any of our programs or webinars to acquire the needed CEUs.
TAKING THE EXAM
The exam is offered twice yearly through the American Holistic Nurses’ Certification Corporation - AHNCC@flash.net or 877-284-0998. The exam application, instructions and fees are available on their website.
